“If you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all others: read a lot and write a lot” - Stephen King
I am infinitely more productive at reading than I am at writing, and I love recommending books to others. So here’s a selection of an ongoing curated list of books by other authors that have kept me up late into the night…
All the links will take you directly to the eBook format on the relevant retailer :)
(Side note: I do use affiliate links for all of these URL’s which doesn’t increase the cost to you as a reader but does put some precious pennies in my account. If you’d prefer then please look them up independently. None of the authors featured have asked me to feature them, these are just genuinely amazing books I’ve enjoyed. Some of these books are available through Kindle Unlimited and you can find out more about this subscription service through the big orange button below.)
The Islanders - Caroline Mitchell
I read this book back in January 2024 and the twist STILL gets me when I think about it. It’s so well written and it’s the book I recommend to everyone who enjoys a twisty thriller.
Her Last Move - John Marrs
No thriller booklist is complete without something by John Marrs. The twist in this book actually caused me to gasp out loud and put the book in my lap - causing my husband to worry I’d just had bad news! Often overlooked but magnificent.
A Fatal Affair - A.R. Torre
I could honestly add every book I’ve ever read by A.R Torre to this list. A fantastic writer who has such a knack for creating engaging characters and storylines. I’ve chosen A fatal affair because it was one of my first by her but honestly anything by this author is brilliant.
The Silent Bride - Shalini Boland
I’m a sucker for an amnesia story line (if you didn’t guess from my trilogy) and this one is so beautifully stitched together I stayed up well past my bedtime to read.
Run on Red - Noelle W.Ihli
Oh. My. God. When I tell you that I couldn’t put this book down I mean it absolutely literally. I started in the morning and forgot all my real world responsibilities and the need to sleep until I reached the last chapter. In fact this is the book that got me into trouble at work for yawning so much the next day - but it was so worth it.
An Eye for An Eye - Carol Wyer
I have to admit, I’m not the biggest fan of police type thrillers anymore (I think I overdid them years ago) but there is something about Kate Young and the cast of characters that Carole Wyer creates that sucked me in until the last chapter of the last book.
